Endurance 6h

Racing Update Posted on Tue, July 24, 2007 22:12:44

Ciao!
Last weekend held the traditional 6h endurance race at Gelleråsen in Karlskoga.
And of course I was joining the event. Once again with the guys Ploppen and Tosse on their GSXR1000 K5.
We qualified in second place beaten by just 0,1 second.
I took the first session and went away in good speed together with Kim J and Peter L and Jimmy L. After about ten laps it was only Jimmy and me left in the leading group. We set off in a really fast pace and had some real fun chasing each other around the track. After 45 min Jimmy went into the pits for his change of rider, but I stayed out for another 40 min! My lead for our team was almost 1,5 laps before it was time to hand over the bike to Plóppen.
Ploppen did what he should do and we were in the lead for almost 3 hours before our braking problems stopped us from winning or even keep going on.
We had to quit the race due to brake failure. Shame but that is racing.
Anyway, all the guys in the team were really fantastic and I really enjoyed racing together with them once again. ( Thank you guys!! )

I have started to think a lot about the future and what I will aim for in the 2008 season. The season 2007 is by far my worst ever racing season, so what ever happends it can hardly be worse!
Will it be an other attempt in the ProSuperbike series in Sweden? Will it be comeback once again into World Endurance Championship? Or maybe something completely different? I will tell you as soon as anything comes to reality, but at this moment I am just making plans in my head. I know what I want and I know what I have been dreaming of for a long time in life, so just keep on watching my blog in the future and you will find out!!

Racing Update Posted on Wed, July 18, 2007 13:26:23

Ciao!
I am just back from some hours of practise at Gelleråsen my hometrack in Karlskoga. And no! I did not run with my own racebike, actually I made a job for an other team in the endurance championship here in Sweden. It is going to be a race on Saturday and they had some big problems with their handling with the bike so I helped them this morning.
Gelleråsen is a bad place to race on if your suspension is not working properly. I changed everyhing for them so it became a completely different bike to ride, but hopefully to the better for them.

I will race there by my self on Saturday but with which team I dont really know at the moment. It can be on Suzuki, Yamaha or something else. I dont really care, I just need to go out and win. Simple.

Yesterday I were on a enduro mission for some hours. I took a map and went off into the forest and find some path to follow. And then another one, and another again and so on. Finally I popped up some 55 km from home in another town. It was good fun and a really nice day of practise.

Today later on I will probably rebuild my frontfork on the K7 GSXR and see if there will be some progress or not. If not, than it will be parked rest of the season.

BIKE Magazine in Sweden put up some really nice pictures from the Isle of Man today. Mmm, it gave me good feeling to watch the pictures.
Now some weeks after the event it really feels emazing to have done such a project as it was.
I can not even think about what else can bring your adrenalin to rush in your vains like Isle of Man does. It is awful to go “flat out” in sixth gear over crests and let the motorcycle take air under you and land some 30 meters later with some great wobble on your handlebars.

2008 is not that far away now! One thing is for sure. That is the future and yesterday is history. I have to learn from the history and bring it with me into the future and make it as good as possible.

Time to start the endurobike again for an other discovery somewhere……..

Rainy summer

Racing Update Posted on Mon, July 09, 2007 07:33:07

Hi.
Back again home after almost one week of vacation. Have been on a trip with road motorcycles up north in Sweden and Norway. It was a great time to relax and just let the head off from this years racing season.
The weather was superb and the trip could not have been better in any way.
The rain that has fallen down in southern of Sweden did not reach us and we could go sightseeing everyday.
What will happend in the future? Who knows?
We are still working with the frontfork on the K7 Superbike, but it is still some distans to go to reach the goal, so to say. I have been testing some other bikes on Gelleråsen to compare against my racebike and for sure the problems is in the front.
Hopefully we can arrange something for the three oncoming races on Gelleråsen.
4h endurance race, European Championship and later ProSuperbike.
For the 4h endurance race I can ride with someother team, no problems, but for those following races I need my own bike.
I will see what we can do…….. It would be nice to rejoin the tracks again and go winning again. I am really missing that sweetness 🙂

Regards / Christer

What if…

Racing Update Posted on Thu, June 28, 2007 21:58:48

Ciao!
“Don´t talk to strangers, cause they are only there to do you harm, don´t dream of women cause they only bring you down. Don´t let them in your mind!”( Ronnie James DIO )
Today was one day with lots of creativity.
A ride with a BMW M6! Gave a lot of inspiration.
A meeting with two guys about top secret future plans.
Some new events on the list to sell for partners and sponsors.
My mother has bought a new cellularphone and she has learnt to write SMS!!! I am so fuc….ing proud of her. ( Du är bäst mamma ! )
On Sunday we will do some work in the workshop with frontforks and see if we can solve problems and get closer to a rideble bike. Monday some testing on track.
Tomorrow Friday will give an other day at work, Eurosport with MotoGP Qual from Assen. Trying some clothes for PR stuff and designing new logos for my company.
Yesterday I had a e-mail conversation with one of the best persons in the business of brakes! He knows all about that stuff and the company he works for is the leading one in the racing world with riders in GP, WSBK and everywhere else. He gave me so much information of what to do to get those brakes to work properly on my bike. Mmm, I like him very much.
The status of the team is as follows. Terje is still in Slovakia with his family swimming and drinking beer probably. Pier is working with…. everything. He has so much energy that guy. Digging, building, reparing, testing, working, yeah everything really. Matte is working with K6 Fagersjo bike to rebuild it again. Hard work and long evenings. Eilert is washing his Porsche GT3 and his Dodge Challenger Convertible for this weekends exhibition in Karlskoga. And finally Torvald the webmaster is on his way out on the lake Vänern, the biggest lake in Sweden with a boat.
My friend Mats has now only about 50 days more to wait before he will be back on the Isle of Man once again and this time for winning the Manx GP! I am sure he will win the Jr class by great margin and maybe even the Sr class. The Sr allows 750cc, but Mats only has a 600cc, so it might be a little bit harder. But he is determined that man……. and a hell of a good friend!

Homework

Racing Update Posted on Mon, June 25, 2007 18:29:53

Por Favor!
Mucho Grasias, to Casey Stoner Moto GP Ducati! If you are looking for someone who has done their homework well to this season, than it must be Ducati and Casey Stoner. The bike was launched last autumn and they knew what they had to do. And the rider himself. So determined. Not even the great Vale Rossi The Doctor can get him out of balance. In the beginning people said it was because of the ultra fast bike Casey won, but now he has won 5 times in 8 rounds. And at different tracks and conditions. I am almost dropping a tear on my pillow, when I think of the success from both Ducati and from Stoner himself.
Of course this is a total opposite of my own success, or lack of success maybe is a correct word. Nothing is working and I can not blame on God or the Devil or bad luck or shit like that. Because you create your own destiny, and through hard work you get success, not through luck. Ok, sometimes lucky circumstances helps you on your way reaching your goals, but you are the main factor for your own success.
And this year 2007 has been hard. Our bike is not well prepared. The bike arrived lately, we are still in need of parts and some other projects has taken time from the Swedish Championship. You can not expect to go out winning against the quickest riders your country can offer, if you have not done your homework before. And I have not done that well enough. I put to much trust in what people always promise and my stupied brain belived those nice words from their mouths. Now, you can see what the result is. Disaster. One more time, I have been hit by the axe for putting my life into other peoples hands. It does not work, and will never work out for me. If I want something in my life, I can only reach those dreams or goals by hard work and total control. I can not for a single minute relax and think that everything works out by itself. It will not. Just look at the world around you! Is it a dreamworld? Is everything working daily without problems or things you must correct? No, not for me at least. I can not even make a address change when moving without everything getting messy and all my post disapears to who know where?
Sad but true.
Now I need to go back to hard work again for first, earning my money, second, solve all problems with my racebike.
See you soon friends.
Ystävällisesti / Christer

To be or not….

Racing Update Posted on Tue, June 19, 2007 06:34:03

Hi.
First free practise, only three laps. Over and out. Front end problems. Qual 1 & 2, spare bike used, but a lot of problems. Qual 18th. What can I say. Changes to the bike before Sundays warm up. Some minor improvment, but lack of power in engine. Time to quit.

Hej hej.

ProSbk Anderstorp

Racing Update Posted on Thu, June 14, 2007 18:24:13

Ciao!
Windy, clouds, rain in the air. Yes, it is normal summer in Sweden. And most of it all it is normal racingweather! Coming weekend holds the Anderstorp ProSuperbike run in the STCC ( SwedishTouringCarChampionship ), and no, I have not had time to test my bikes since last race almost 4 weeks ago. That is not the best of ways to deal with if you are fighting against Swedens fastest racers, but if the bikes are not ready and you aint got no time to test, than that is the case and you have to fact the reality. The team will arrive to Atorp tomorrow and we are all full of hopes for improvement, but at the same time you are a bit concerned about not been able to ride the bikes. We will have one K7, one K6 and of course my own K3 bike with us for the event. Fingers crossed, God bless us all and we will see what we can achieve. My fantastic mechanics are all over the moon again to get in action and I will not let them down again…… I´ve rather crash than make them dissapointed again. But don´t tell them :-)A lot of problems while I was away to the IoM has coursed us problems that just got solved a couple of hours ago. We are running low on tires and some other stuff, but I am getting used to at the moment and it doesn´t bother me a lot.Pier is preparing in Växjö and will arrive tomorrow, Matte will not get many hours of sleep tonight while he must pick up the bikes from DinMC and get some suspension parts from Öhlins. Eilert is painting the fairings at the moment and I am trying to solve some admin problems and logistics. Torvald will be working this weekend by his own and can not join the trip and finally Terje has holiday and is on his way to Croatia.
See you soon.
Best Regards / Christer

Swedish Nationalday

Racing Update Posted on Wed, June 06, 2007 22:45:41

Hi.
A real touristing day. Went to Laxery Wheels and the mines. Had some nice lunch at a nice restaurant and lately some barbeque with a group of Swedish friends in the paddock. After that it was time for another pricegiving cermony. And guess!!
I got a Bronze Replica reward!!! It was awsome. That is a real nice price for given to riders that last in some percent of the winning time. That was actually a surprise for me, but it made me proud anyway. Not that bad after all??!!! Or??
See you again tomorrow. It will be yet another day in the holiday line.
Cheers / Christer

Hej.
