On the way!

Racing Update Posted on Mon, March 30, 2009 08:02:01

Hello.

Finally I am on the way to Le Mans for the first practice of the year together with my team No Limits. What else can I tell you except that this is what I have been missing for a while now.
If you once have been a racer than it is in your blood. Even if you sometimes have thoughts about doing something else in your life, it is not that simple to quit racing. You just have to watch a race on Eurosport and your blood is boiling again and you are thinking of all those wonderful moments all the racing has given you.

I am quite sure about that I will do really plenty of laps in these few days in Le Mans. I think my team has to drag me off the bike if they want me to stop.
Just to be out there and do one more lap, and one more, and one more is awsome. Everytime you are searching for the ultimate lap, and everytime you are almost there, but some small error somewhere or missing the ideal line with some inches in some corner makes you go an other round. And you have been searching for that all your time as a racer.
It is the same for everyone. Rossi has the same problem. But maybe he is a little bit faster?! Anyway he is also searching for the perfect lap to go even faster.

Now it is only some hours left before my flight goes from Stockholm to Paris. I will have to quit and make all the last minute arrangements.

See you soon.

Pretest Le Mans

Racing Update Posted on Wed, March 18, 2009 12:05:15

Hi!

In just less than two weeks from now, there will be the first test with my new team No Limits at Le Mans in France. All the EWC teams will join, or at least most of the teams will be there. I am really looking forward to meet my team and teammates and most of all the swing my leg over the Gixxer I will ride this year.

The first day will be for getting used to the bike, make all the important adjustments for us riders so we are pretty familiar with the bike and can handle it well. Than on, we will try to learn the track and get used to it again. I rode there in 2006 last time, so I think I now how it turns.
On the second day I suppose we will work with setup on the bike and maybe test some different tyres. I really like this kind of work. Development that makes us go quicker on the track and hopefully even with a less amount of bodywork on the bike.

Last week I made my first motorcycle trip on roadbikes. The trip went from Stockholm Sweden, through Germany, Belgium, Nederlands to France and Calais. It was a work for the leading Swedish motorcycle Magazine BIKE. All in all we rode 3500 km in six days. The temperature was around +1 to +5 most of the time. And yes it was pretty cold even for us who lives up near the north pole! 😉

My training schedule seems to work quite well and at the moment I am running at least 3 times a week, plus at least 1,5 hours of walk with Rossi every day. And above this I also will try to get at least some riding with the endurobike before season starts.

See you soon again!

EWC with No Limits in 2009

Racing Update Posted on Sat, February 07, 2009 19:32:40

Hi.

I will race in EWC in 2009 together with the Italian team No Limits!!
I must admit it feels fantastic to be back again in the EWC and I am really looking forward to go out again on the international arena!

The team is really professional and has a really good rider lineup for the season. And of course I will do whatever I can to achieve good results in the races.

At the moment I am just waiting for the preseason test to go on!

The feeling in your heart when you arrive to places like Le Mans and see all the other teams and riders is fantastic. The atmosphere in those places is so full of adrenalin so everything else in the world just disaperes from your mind.

See you soon! / Christer

Endurotest and future

Racing Update Posted on Tue, January 20, 2009 20:38:03

Ciao!

Jämsä in Finland has been the place last weekend for my first test of the year 2009. The little town in Finland is placed between Tampere and Jyväskylä. It was really great fun to be there even if the temperature was -19 C in the morning. But it rised later on in the day.
The test was about finding the best endurobike in 2009. Different categories, two stroke, four stroke and different cc. From 250 to 450.
All the bikes where naturally equipped with spiketyres for use on the snow and ice.

I also made a debut in a KIA car. Hmm, the rental company had no other one to give me for the lowest price possibly, so I had to spread my wings and get some new inputs. The carcompany has a quite long way to go, to reach the premium standards. Specially on icy winterroads. The car was moving around all the time when I was driving. In higher speeds it became even worse and almost frightening to drive.

At the moment back home I am a little bit of worried about Rossi. Not Vale, but my eyestone, my little dog. He is not feeling well at the moment you can see and we are waiting for some test results for finding if there is any bad problems accored to him.
Life sucks at the moment. I don´t fucking really care about wars in middle east etc, but when an animal is feeling ill and can´t tell you about what is wrong, than it hurts right in the heart. He is lying in the sofa beside me at the moment and looks at me with his sad eyes.
If there is a damn God, than show me a sign!

The other Rossi has a new personal sponsor. Monster! They are paying him 3 miljon Euros for this sponsorship. That is not that bad…

It is less than two months left now for the new WSBK season to start. Great!

See you / Christer

Biaggi + Aprilia RSV

Racing Update Posted on Sun, September 21, 2008 11:40:09

Ciao!

Yes! Masimilliano Biaggi is declared as Aprilias WSBK rider number uno for 2009 and 2010! That was one of the best news so far this year. Remember that he has won three of his four world titles together with Aprilia in 250cc. Hopefully they will go on in great style again and win some more world titles.

If there is any team in the world who knows Biaggi and his way of doing things both on track and off track, than it must be the worksteam of Aprilia. They have shared a lot of happiness and success together and I am sure they will do it again.
I am already looking forward to follow next years WSBK.

Yesterday I were out in the nearby forest and toke a ride with my endurobike. It was a fantastic autumday with sunshine and great colours. I had a real great time sliding and wheelieing everywhere and did not even made a single crash.
Yes, I often crash on my endurobike, but not yesterday. Maybe I am getting older and doesn´t dare to push the limits anymore 😉 Or maybe I had just a lucky day in the sunshine.

In 20 minutes the first heat of Vallelunga WSBK goes off and I better stop writing to you and grab a seat in the sofa instead.

See you! / Christer

East and West

Racing Update Posted on Thu, September 18, 2008 18:06:19

Ciao!

What is really happening at the global financial market? Things ain´t looking too good at the moment, that is for sure.
In the greatest country in the world ( if they say it them selves ) US and A, the financial crises goes on and deeper every week. Big old well known banks get bankrupcy and insurance companies also. The FED has to help the rest of them to bread just for surviving some more months or weeks. Puh, I would not like to be US next president and try to sort things out in the future, that is for sure.

In the east. The great old bear woke up for a while, but got suddenly hitten right between the eyes. The stock market has had to shut down for two days, because of the total collapse on the stockmarket. The Moscow finacial market is most about oil, gas and minerals. And at the moment prices are falling quick in those markets. This makes it all very turbulent.

The big question is…… What will happend in Europe? Are we safe here? I don´t think so. We will be in the same shit in a short while.
But that is one thing. The other thing is, what will those great leading countries do for getting back in right direction again?

All this leads to something in my mind. How difficult will it be to find sponsors for racing in the future? The first thing companies do when worse time appears is to close the sponsorbudget. Of course new partners will climb up instead of those old ones and people need some recreation and something else to free their minds to.
So I think the racing will go on anyway, but with some changes on the logos.

Sports and music make people survive when bad times are around them. So I will be longing for the next RAMMSTEIN album to land in the musicstores. Some new, fresh German quality music that make the blood rush in the veins.

By for now:

Congratulations!

Ciao!

First of all I would like to congratulate Stiggy Motorsport for their first victory in WSSP! Their rider Joshua Brooks made a fantastic race last weekend at Donington Park when he achieved first place after a hard fighting battle.
Great to see that hard work pays off. Stiggy and his great team has working hard for so long, so for sure they deserv this victory!
Now on I think they will be a great threaten to everybody else on the track, and they have better to watch out for the Swedish team. Hopefully even the Danish rider Robin Harms will have some better luck for the rest of the season so he can show his real potential.

Some more Silly season talk is that Max Biaggi will be riding for Xerox Ducati Factory team, replacing Bayliss. Bayliss will quit racing. But roumors also whispers that Aprilia will come on into WSBK again and have one of the best riders Biaggi. I cross my fingers for some great future for him a couple of years. There are no one else out there who rides as smooth and nice as Biaggi does! Some guys are faster, but not more nice riding!

See you soon!

Best Regards / Christer

Racing Update Posted on Wed, August 27, 2008 11:33:35

Ciao!

I have been reading that the superrider in AMA series Mat Mladin from Australia has been disqualified from the latest races, due to some illegal stuff with the camshaft. That is too sad, because the interesting duells between Mat and his rival Ben Spies about the championship now seems to be spoiled for Mat. If the jury definitly finds him and his team gulity, than Ben Spies will take his third in a row title in the AMA Superbike series.
Both Mat Mladin and Ben Spies has dominated the series totally with their Yoshimura prepared American Suzuki Gixxers. Nobody else has not even been near to threaten them for the title or even for some single race. Quite strange actually! Are they so much better than the rest of the field or are their bikes so much better?
The names like Ben Bostrom, Neil Hodgson etc are not even near to challenge these two boys for victories.

This weekend it is time again for the continuing battle in MotoGP. I cross my fingers for some more nice duells between Rossi and Stoner.

See you!

Christer
