One Week left

Racing Update Posted on Sat, February 19, 2011 10:00:00

Ciao!

One more week left of frustration!
The World Superbike series will start next weekend with first round in Australia.
I have been longing for that since last race in November.

This winter has been really bad here in Sweden with a lot of snow, but worst of it all is the constant low temperature. I have been freezing since the beginning of November and are doing that every day. I am not made to live here in Artic Sweden in wintertime.
You can not go riding motorcycle, you can not go running outside, it sucks!

But next weekend I will be sitting in the sofa watching WSBK on Eurosport and dream away from this bizarre reality.

It will be interesting to see how well the new bikes are performing and how quick the riders have acclimate to their new teams.

How good will Nori Haga be on a Aprilia? Will he beat Max Biaggi?
Will Castrol Honda be ready for the challenge of the title?
Can BMW, the all new Kawasaki or the lonesome Suzuki fight for victories?
Or will some of those Privateer Ducatis surprise us?

What about Marco Melandri? What can a boy like him do with Yamaha? Has he done his homework well and adapted to ride the Superbike?

We will have to wait and see………..

Todays temperature -24 C……..

It sucks!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Racing Update Posted on Wed, December 22, 2010 19:56:43

2010 is soon printed to the historybooks.

We are all looking forward to 2011 and can´t hardly wait to see what it brings us.

Peace on Earth and we are all living in the Paradise forever !!?? Let´s hope so.

Until then, here is a short picturecavalcade of racing……

Just a really close racingpicture taken from the Swedish Championship at Falkenberg in 2003. The antagonist is the famous Peter Skold overtaking me with his beautiful Ducati.

The picture below is from my “hometrack” Gelleråsen in 2003. One of my greatest victories ever and later that year I won the first title of 3 in total of the Swedish Superbike Championship.

This picture still gives me a lot of good vibrations, everytime I look at it. Yet another victory in SBK class. Sviesta, Sweden and have just overtaken a backmarker some laps before the checkered flag.

Henrik Hansen from Denmark, my mechanic and best friend since 2001. Even a second place in a race can make him smile. But not often. This time when he gave this beloved smile in his face I just became the Swedish SBK Champ for the third time.

A superride at Osch again in 2006, with the dreamteam Phase One. I did one of my most heroic rides in the damp condition and helped the team to grab the third place in the EWC. Yeah!! I´m hungry again…….

The whole team Phase One in 2006. All of them are bronzeholders in World Endurance!!! A bunch of really nice lads…..

MBR is the name of one of the teams based on “The Island ” Isle of Man. I rode for them in 2007 and had one of my best “road” races. More than 3 years later I still can remember every single corner of the track and there is more than 268 of them…
One lap is just about 60 km, and a Superbike race is 6 laps. Almost 2 hours of racing with not a single moment to relax. Awesome!

A bounch of Black men! Is it Depeche Mode or Men In Black?
They are my best friends and my team in 2007 and ProSbk series. They are all smiling, because of the 2.nd place in the race, with my old Suzuki K3!! Hmm, I was not that popular in Suzuki Sweden after that…… Hehe, but the K3 bike is still a lot better than the K7….. I Promise….:-)

Magny Course in France, riding for Slovakian MacoMoto. Great fun. Close racing.

Of course I will never forget the team Fagersjo-el. It all started in 2001 with the greatest man of them all Fagersjo Kalle. The old wise kind and friendly man Kalle. He has given me the opportunity to become what I am today in racing. Tack Kalle!!

Last years racefoto taken from Le Mans 24hours EWC. Riding for the Italian team NoLimits. Another great team I have been riding for.

One of my first rides on the International Endurance Scen. Oschersleben in 2002. I have just done a double stint early in the morning on Sunday.

Just some pictures

Racing Update Posted on Wed, February 17, 2010 20:38:29

Ciao.

Just some pictures.

Some makes me dream of a better world. Just kidding. Dreams of adrenalin and fighting for positions is more realistic and closer to the truth.

A cat is not just a small little animal. It is a real lion in a smaller body! It is a fascinating animal, that can make you forget the world around you for hours.

Driving a rallycar in WRC is a privilege for a small amount of successful drivers at the toplevel. Most of us other people have just to keep dreaming…..

Some further explanations:

The first picture is from 2007, when I was riding for the Slovenian team MacoMoto. It is taken at Boldór 24h Endurance World Championship. My heart starts to pump the blood in my vains, when I remember the details of the event.

The second picture is taken with Nikon D90. My new toy and hobby. To take pictures and try to catch the moment. And the catmodel is Maja 4 years of age. A real mousehunter that never ever surrender for the enemy, what ever kind it is.

The last picture was taken last Saturday at SS13 Fredriksberg in Sweden WRC Rally. It was -22 in the early morning and I did my best crowling in the snow for getting great pictures. This picture is shot just some two meters from the car rushing at 160 km/h.

See you all in Stockholm at Saturday………..

RAMMSTEIN visits Stockholm……… Don´t miss the consert!!

Finally Snow in the air

Racing Update Posted on Tue, December 15, 2009 20:49:36

Ciao Friends.

Long time since I last wrote you a couple of words. Time has flown away as always and the shorter days and longer nights are really taking the most out of you. But finally today the snow started to fall down. It is so beautiful. Sparkling snowflings instead of black dark raindrops.

Of course I must start telling that I was one of the riders in this years World Endurance Championship that achieved 6th place in total!!! Together with my team NO LIMITS from Italy. I am really proud of the team and of course of my own riding. It is always nice to reach the goals.
Well done to all the members in NO LIMITS and riders also.

Yesterday I wrote on the web, that the team STIGGY Motorsport from Sweden calls it a day!! That is sad. But true. It is a shame that the world finances has make them to quit racing in the future at the World level of WSBK and WSS.

Kimi Räikkönen, the Finnish F1 driver, quits Formula One and goes for World Rally instead!! Wow! I admire that. Hopefully he will show the people how good his is as a profession driver. Almost 17 million Euros from Ferrari in payment for not riding in F1 is also pretty good.
Good luck to you Kimi.

I lost my best friend a couple of months ago. Rossi, my lovely little dog had to walk away from me at just 2 years age to the better place of earth. Heaven or hell, who knows? Are we living in hell and longing for heaven after death or is it the other way round? I am not sure, but the loss of Rossi made the days a little bit darker for sure.

In just a weeks time it is Christmas and in two weeks it is the beginning of a new year. Yeah, fuckin´hell, I am really looking forward to turn the page and start a new chapter. No waste of looking back, just keep looking forward and still have high hopes and aiming high in the future.

Final words are taken from WASP and the song “The Headless Children”

“Father come save us from this Madness we are under. GOD of creation are we Blind? Cause some here are slaves that worship Guns that spit thunder.
The Children that you have made, have lost their minds!!”

See you all in 2010!!

Regards
Christer

10th place Albacete

Racing Update Posted on Mon, July 06, 2009 21:25:09

Ciao.

The third round of the EWC was held last weekend in Albacete, Spain. And the sun was shining from a clear blue sky all weekend long.

I am really delighted to tell you that our team No Limits took 10th place in the race that were held in +37 degrees! All of the teammembers did a great work and my rider mates were brilliant. Together we fight really hard in the heat and drove fast and safetly with no incidents at track.

Of all three races so far we have seen chequerd flag in all of them! That is superb.

At the moment I am back home in Sweden and the rain and +11….. Shitweather.

See you soon again.

8th in Le Mans!

Racing Update Posted on Tue, April 21, 2009 21:45:56

Hi!

Wow! I am really feeling alive at the moment. It was some years ago. We made to the checquerd flag in the Le Mans 24h EWC. And in a 8th PLACE!! That is superb after starting from 34th place on the startinggrid.
Even when you start thinking of the rain that interrupted for 22 of 24 hours that is even greater result. All three of us riders, Me, Peter Hickman and Belucchi Emilliano made all the best all the time. In no way we were just cruising. We all wanted as good result as possible and that made us give everything.
In my last stint just 2,5 hours from the end I finally lost momentarium for a split second and highsided and crashed. Landed on my head and tumbled around in the gravel and grass before stopping. Some second later I was on the bike again and could start it and cruise to the pit to repair the handlebar and fotrest. And 5 minutes later we were at full speed again.!

Now afterwards I really want to send a really big THANK YOU to MY SUPERB TEAM NO LIMITS!! You were all fantastic during the whole week and brilliant through the race. Forza No Limits!!

It is really fantastic actually. I have not been racing constantly since 2006 in EWC and almost nothing in 2008, but anyway I delivered my best ever laptimes on Le Mans! It feels so great to once again be remembered about the little bit of talant I´ve got for this wonderful motorcycle sport. From now on it will even only be better. I have got a lot of laps into my body in racespeed and in great competition, and that will make me even faster.

Today I am feeling like I have been run over by a train. My neck hurts, my shoulder is sore, my knee is hurting and all my body is just demolised. But anyway I would never change this feeling for something undone. All this just reminds me about what it is to feel alive. To have a desire and will to live your dreams.

People back home are almost terrified when hearing about a crash in 160 km/h, and land on tarmac with your helmet first, and than tumble around. You can get killed they tell me. And things can go wrong for sure, but anyway it is a risk worth taking just to feel alive for a couple of hours! You can get hurt and get really badly ill in so many other ways in life. It is a little risk you have to live with.

Tomorrow the weather will be better in Sweden, so I will for sure take my endurobike and go for a ride in the neighbourhood.

Thanks to all of you who have supported me and made this come true again this season!
Thank you all you people who have supported me by sending greatful SMS, blogging, and emails.

See you soon again!!

Best Regards / Christer

starting pos for the race

Racing Update Posted on Fri, April 17, 2009 13:36:25

Boun Journo! The qual is to end and we will start from pos 34 tomorrow. Today we used our bike numbero uno again, and after a while I got used to it again and made consistant laptimes. My best for today were 1.43,004. Shit! I wanted to do a 42, but anyway I am happy with the handling of the bike. Our overall time were 1.44,532. It is great to ride on worldtracks again instead of Swedish Mickey Mouse ones. Now, I feel alive again. Ciao Bambinos / Christer
